Welcome to our Weekly Newsletter!
We finished the week with a wonderful class assembly, delivered expertly by our Year 2 class- well done Year 2, we've learnt lots about the differences between Great Britain and Australia!
Our next class assembly is on Friday and this time it's the turn of Year 4- please note we're only inviting Year 4 parents to watch this, thankyou.
Yesterday was our annual Music Day -all classrooms, corridors (and offices!) were filled with the amazing sound of singing, drumming, rapping and xylophone playing!- see more below.
We are at last seeing the impact of COVID starting to lessen and we are almost back to full staff and full classes. As you know, we kept some of the measures introduced in the lockdowns, as a permanent feature of our school day. The window to drop children off has remained from 8:45am to 8:55am with children ready and settled in the classrooms at 9am. Please support us by making sure children getting in to classrooms on time- thankyou.

Timetable ROCKSTARS!
Well done to John in Year 6 who was Mr Powell's deserved winner of the TT Rockstar medal this week. John is spending an impressive average of 20 minutes a day on TT RockStars and his amazing recall speed is proof that practice makes perfect!
It's great to see so many children trying to improve their times table knowledge with TT Rockstars- all children in KS2 can access this from home- let us know if you don't know your child's log in details.
Music Day was a huge HIT!

Looking after our Community...
Look out for a Crestwood Park Act of Kindness, in the local community on Monday afternoon! Our Year 6 volunteers will be litter picking and ensuring our local area is spotless!
Bikeability - Year 4,5 & 6
A reminder... Bikeability has been booked for the following dates for years 4, 5 and 6:
Wednesday 16th February- Year 5
Thursday 17th February – Year 6
Friday 18th February- Year 6 - (Morning Session) and Year 4 - (Afternoon Session).
All letters have now been handed out to children - please return the consent forms to your child's class teacher by Monday 7th February.
Bikes and Scooters on the playground
Whilst we encourage children to cycle and scoot to school, please do not ride/scoot across the playground. The playground gets very busy at drop off and pick up times and we would hate for someone to get hurt.
Please dismount and push scooters and bikes instead of riding them across the playground please.

Reports and Parents' Evenings...
Mid-Year reports will be given to parents on Tuesday 15th. Following that, parents are invited to book an appointment to meet with teachers on either the 16th and 17th - please look on the sch.life app to book your slot!
Please note that Mr Timmington begins his paternity leave on Monday so the Yr4 reports and parents evenings will be rearranged on his return. These are likely to be WB 7th March, but we will confirm this nearer the time.
We expect all parents to attend a parents' evening- if you cannot make one of these dates, please speak to your class teacher(s) to arrange an alternative.

Go Bright for MDUK - NEXT FRIDAY!
Join us on #Brightday 11 February 2022
Go big, go bold, and Go Bright for MDUK! There are loads of brilliant ways to get involved and show your true colours on a grey February day. And when you do, you'll help bring forward the day we beat muscular dystrophy.
Tired of the dull winter colours? Put on your brightest clothes instead of your school uniform. Go Bright and donate to this worthy cause via the Teachers2Parents app.
Whatever you do, go big, go bold, and Go Bright. Every pound you raise will keep our brightest minds searching for treatments and cures. And you'll make #Brightday 11 February 2022 the day to help beat muscle-wasting conditions.
Book Fair and Uniform!
A reminder that the Book Fair will be available during parents' evenings. There will also be a uniform display and a first look at some new 'soft shell' children's coats, embroidered with the Crestwood Park logo, that will be available from the Sports Shop- Kingswinford.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
And finally,
We never have a quiet week at school, and this week was no exception! We love going above and beyond to provide our children with more than just the normal school day- but we couldn't do it without the goodwill of staff, the generosity of volunteers, the support of our families and the enthusiasm of our children. It's what makes us a pretty special family.
Have a good herky-jerky everyone!
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children our safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm. If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
