Today, I would like you to focus on our new sound 'i_e'. This sound is a split digraph - watch the video below to find out more about what these are! Watch the letters and sound video lesson below. I will attach some word cards to read below and an activity sheet to use. Can you think of any words with the 'i_e' sound in?
Have a go at writing the words:
time

Can you use these words in a sentence?
Maths
Starter
Practise counting in 2's, 5's and 10's! I have uploaded 2 fun videos below to support this learning!
Main lesson
Watch todays maths lesson on subtraction - not crossing ten (counting back). Then have a go at the worksheet! I have also added a true or false challenge sheet to try!
English - Grammar and Punctuation
We will be using classroom secrets grammar and punctuation powerpoints to enable your child to complete the worksheet. The worksheet is based on creating fluency with the skill! Todays focus is recognising the conjunction 'or'.
This step focuses on recognising the word ‘or’ and how it can be used in a sentence to give additional information indicating two (or more) different options, e.g. Would you like red or green?
Curriculum lesson - Science
Have a listen to some rainfall noises - see the video below. What can you hear? What does it remind you of? How does it make you feel?
Think about and share your memories of rain, splashing in puddles, wearing wellies, getting very wet without a raincoat, etc.
Today's session will be focused on rain and measuring how much rain falls in a week.
Take a look on the video below to see how to make a rain gauge and show chn the materials they will need to make it. When you have made the gauge position it outside.
Take a look at the file below to see more instructions about how to make a rain gauge and some recording sheets for your findings!
