Breakfast with Santa
What an amazing response we've had for Breakfast with Santa, thank you to all our lovely parents for allowing your children to take part. We have more than 85% of children coming along which makes the effort of organising something like this so worthwhile. It will be a fun and festive start to the day for the children where a fabulous selection of breakfast items is offered, prepared by our brilliant kitchen staff. It will be made extra special with a visit from the famous Santa himself... HO, HO, HO!
Key Stage One Play Equipment
You will notice that barriers have been placed round the 'Fort' and 'Tyres' on Key Stage One playground. This follows Health and Safety guidelines when the weather turns inclement. When icy, these items can become slippery and a little dangerous if not used responsibly and these are used by our little people who don't really consider their own safety. Could parents of children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 talk to children about this and try to make them understand that it is for their own safety the reasons why they cannot use this equipment at the moment. Thank you for your support.
Fitting it all in!
As you can imagine, the next couple of weeks will be quite frantic here in school. We have so much going on with Christmas Dinner Day, Christmas Production, Fabulous Finishes, Christmas Carol Concert and Christmas Parties to name but a few. To fit it all in, lunch will start earlier than normal on 13th, 14th and 18th December so if your child will be going home for lunch they will need to be collected at 12:00 instead of 12:15pm.
Also, there will be NO FAMILY ASSEMBLY on Friday 15th December to give us a chance of fitting it all in before the end of term. We thank you for your understanding.
School Fundraising
During this festive period we have several fundraising events that will be taking place. Firstly, we have our Christmas Raffle with wonderful prizes to be won. Tickets will be on sale after school (or can be purchased from the school office) from the Key Stage Two Library door starting Monday 4th December. The raffle will be drawn at the end of the Key Stage Two Carol Service.
We have 'Name the Cuddlies'. There are three large cuddlies to be named - a Christmas Teddy, a Reindeer and an extremely cute snowman. Guesses will be 50p each or have a guess at all three for £1. These will be going round the classrooms for the children to make their guesses from Monday 11th December with winners being announced on Friday 15th.
'Guess the Weight' will be on sale at both Key Stage One Productions and Key Stage Two Carol Service with the winner being announced at the end of the Service.
Crestwood Park Book Exchange
You might have noticed that a new cupboard has appeared in our foyer (as if by magic!). We purchased this to begin a 'Book Exchange' programme here in school and the cupboard in the foyer will contain books suitable for adults and children. We are hoping that this will be up and running in the new year. The idea is....... bring a book, take a book for 50p. All proceeds from this will go to the 'Classroom in the Clouds', and education charity we have been supporting.
What's On Locally......
This weekend we can look forward to Dudley Town Christmas light switch on. This happens on Saturday 2nd December and there are various activities to be enjoyed from 9am to 5pm. On the same day Dudley Library will be hosting a Craft Club from 2 - 3pm. Dudley Canal Trust, Birmingham New Road are having 'Carols in the Cavens' starting on 3rd December with tickets costing £11.50. At Pens Meadow School on the Ridge Hill site, the Family Outreach team are holding a Christmas Fayre from 10am til 2pm.
And finally...
Thank you to the wonderful Christmas Elves (parents!) that have given up their time to help us prepare for the festivities. Your support at this very busy time of the year is really appreciated. THANK YOU!
