Welcome to

Crestwood Park Primary School

Be the best you can be

Welcome to our Weekly Newsletter!

We've ended the week in true CPPS style! The Local Area Exhibition was a real success with children visiting each others 'stands' this morning and parents, friends and families visiting this afternoon. It was wonderful to stand back and let our confident and talented children do the talking- they were absolutely amazing at speaking to our visitors and giving them a wonderful overview of everything they have learnt about their rich local history and geography.

Another visitor to our Exhibition was Mr Martin Phillips who works for Historic England. He was really impressed with the children's work and their levels of knowledge and understanding about the history of our school, Bromley Lane and the way the land around us was used in the past. Look out for his name next year, as we may be inviting him back to do some local history workshops with parents and families.

This week Year 4 visited Central Mosque in Birmingham- this was the last of 6 year group visits to different places of worship. The visits have really helped bring R.E. alive for our children and they have been wonderful opportunities to understand and celebrate differences, whilst reminding ourselves we are all equal and all deserve to be respected. Thank you to the parents who have given us positive feedback about the trips. The programme of visits will run again next year, with the aim that during their time at CPPS, our children will visit and learn about 6 different places of worship.

The School Council Tuck Hut was a roaring success again today- thank you for supporting the children with this. Our aim is to raise enough money to rent a 'plastic recycling bin' so we can recycle the plastic water bottles we often use.

Fitness Friday with Mr Barnett

Those Summer holidays aren't too far away now. Who wants to get fit?!...

Don't forget that Mr Barnett holds a fitness session on Friday mornings, just after children are dropped off.

We have a really good range of equipment for parents and family friends to use and is a lovely way to have a catch-up with other parents, whilst burning a few calories at the same time! No need to book, just turn up!

Next session will be - Friday 8th July

Lunch bookings - Important

Don't forget to re-book your child's meals for the last three weeks of term! There has been a technical glitch resulting in us having to cancel them and needing to start again!

Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Mr Powell's TTS Rockstar Champion

Well done to Jack-James who was last week's champion with 880 correct answers. This week it's a huge well done to Annalise with 1753 correct answers in a week! Look out for Mr Powell who will be presenting you with your medals.

COVID Information for Parents

And finally,

It was lovely to see so many parents and families in the hall today- this was the third attempt to invite parents to our Local Area Study Exhibition- we got there eventually! We can't wait to see plenty of you next Friday- let's keep our fingers crossed for some sunshine!

In the meantime, have a lovely weekend everyone and take care of each other.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children our safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm.  If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
