Welcome to

Crestwood Park Primary School

Be the best you can be

Welcome to our Newsletter

Our children (and staff) have really made the most of the warmer weather this week, with lots of learning opportunities taking place outside. We also really enjoyed being able to complete our whole school mile walk in the sunshine this afternoon!

Mid-year reports have been sent out today. We hope you find these useful and informative. Further discussions about your child’s report can take place at one of our Parent’s Evenings next week and you will also be able to view your child’s work.

We are almost at the end of the spring term, so next week we will very much be thinking of Easter. An Easter egg raffle will be drawn at our Easter Achiever's Assembly next Friday morning, so keep scrolling to find out where and when you can buy a raffle ticket!

⚽🌲✨ A SPECIAL MENTION! βœ¨πŸŒ²βš½

A charity offered to come and landscape Ben's families garden so they all have access to a safe outdoor space. On Wednesday the team organised for local and national newspapers to be there as it’s their 500th garden make over. For an extra treat they also arranged for some West Bromwich Albion players to meet Sam and Ben!

How amazing to be able to enjoy their new outdoor space as a family.

⚽ FOOTBALL NEWS ⚽

Thursday 12th March, our school football team played against Brook Primary. It was end to end attacking from both teams in bad weather conditions. The match ended 5-5, with Jenson scoring 4 goals and Hassan with 1. Players of the match went to... Hassan, for great link up play and a few assists and Nathaniel who made some great saves, one in particular was where he stopped the ball from flying into the top corner with his body fully stretched. I am glad our gymnastic PE lessons were put into practice for this!  Finally, I'd like to say a well done to Haider-Ali and Hassan who, throughout this month, have been taking part in Ramadan. On Thursday afternoon they participated in PE and then both put in a great performance for the school football team after school. Well done to all players involved! - Mr Barnett

RESPECTFUL

This term we are focusing on being RESPECTFUL.

Staff in school will be on the look out for children who are going above and beyond to be a Respectful SPARK!

Children who have earned ten Respectful points/ticks will be presented with their SPARKS badge in our Easter Achievement Assembly on Friday 27th March at 9.00am.

Mrs Cadman's News

This week, the English Ambassadors were invited to the Dudley Book Awards at The Summerhill School.

Over the past 3 months, the Ambassadors have been reading a selection of books, which they then voted for their favourite in the two different categories - Short and Sweet and Children's category.

At the event, we were lucky enough to hear from the authors, who spoke about their writing journey. After the awards, the children got chance to meet and speak with Patrice Lawrence, Doug Naylor and Jenny Pearson.

It really was an inspiring morning and an excellent experience for our pupils!

Pastoral Update

What a beautiful week it has been, we hope you are all able to enjoy the sunshine over the weekend!

This week sees the end of group work.  We will now be assessing our children so that we are able to offer the best support in the Summer term. Children will continue to be supported individually on a need basis until the end of term.

We will of course be in touch after the Easter break to inform you of your child's progress and with the support we plan to offer.

Should you have any worries or concerns, please contact Sue Priest (01384) 818315, alternatively email spriest@crestwood-p.dudley.sch.uk.

You won't know 'til you ask (DSIT)

The UK government has launched the 'Kids Online Safety' campaign to help parents and carers support their children to navigate the digital world safely and confidently.

The campaign brings together practical, trusted guidance on how to start meaningful conversations about online life, understand the types of content children may encounter, and build critical thinking skills so young people can question what they see and make safer choices.

It also offers advice on using tools such as parental controls, recognising potential risks, and knowing where to seek help or report concerns. The overall aim is to make online safety an ongoing, open dialogue within families rather than a one-off conversation, helping children feel supported as they explore apps, games and social media.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children are safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm.  If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
