Welcome to our Newsletter

It’s been a week full of wonderful Christmas events in school.

Wednesday saw the children enjoying their Christmas Dinner. Thanks to our wonderful kitchen team for preparing the delicious meal; lots of children devoured it, especially the turkey, roast potatoes and pigs in blankets!

Classes held their Christmas Parties on Thursday afternoon. The children dressed for the occasion and a great, fun-filled time was had by all. Selection Packs were given to every child, and I would like to thank our sponsors for these. The label on your child’s pack indicates just who these were.

On Thursday evening our choir performed at the Mayor’s Concert at Dudley Town Hall. Thanks to Miss Johnson for organising this. I had the pleasure of being there and it was truly amazing. Some of our pupils performed brilliantly as part of the choir accompanied by a live orchestra.

This morning, our annual Key Stage 2 Carol Service took place and was a fitting end to the term. Each class shared a song that helped remind us of the story and real meaning of Christmas. Thanks to Mrs Cadman and the Key Stage 2 staff for preparing the children for this service.  I also want to extend a special thanks to Mrs Tonks and Miss Williams who lead our Sign Language after school club. Today’s performance of ‘I wish it could be Christmas Everyday’, from our signing club pupils was captivating.

Christmas dinner was a huge success this week.  Thank you to our wonderful cooks; Steve, Pat and Tonia for putting on a real feast - it was absolutely delicious!

Our school choir took to the stage at Dudley Town Hall for the Mayor's Concert last night and it was a really special evening.

Children from a selection of schools sang with the DPA String Orchestra and the DPA Wind Band.

Thank you to Miss Johnson for organising our choir to take part and thanks you to the families who came along to support such a lovely festive evening.

The children did us all proud!

It is always really special to see our BSL club signing and this year we had a special treat during our Key Stage 2 Christmas Concert where the club signed 'All I want for Christmas is you!'  Thank you to Mrs Tonks and Miss Williams who lead this club - they do a really fantastic job teaching our children a really valuable skill.

Mrs Cadman's News!

Thank you to all the children who completed an entry for the Rotary competitions.  We will find out if we have any successful entries in the new year.

Please continue to read at home with your child over the holidays and give yourself the chance to pick up and book and enjoy the different places that a story can take you.

I always like to receive photos of children and families reading - so please send any in that you take over the holidays.

Also if children get new books for Christmas that they would recommend - let me know.

Thank you for your support.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
