Welcome to our Newsletter

Welcome back everyone!

So, the new year has begun and we are, as aways looking forward to another fantastic year together.

To those families who are joining our school community for the first time, we hope you are already beginning to feel like part of our family.

By reading this newsletter, you will be able to further get a feel of what will be happening over the next few weeks and what we value and celebrate at Crestwood Park.

Although the children have only been back in school for a couple of days, they are already displaying our Crestwood Park values.

Keep reading to learn more about our expectations, in the form of our Home School Agreement, a copy of which will be handed out at Class Welcome Meetings next week. The date of your child's class meeting is available on the school calendar and within this newsletter.

The first of our school Sparks values that we focus on this term is to be... SMART. You can read more in the SMART section about how your children can earn their SMART star pin badge.

Happy Reading!

Our SPARKS!

This half term we are focusing on our SMART Spark.

To earn the SMART badge, children will need to earn 10 points.

Children worked as a whole school today to decide on how to achieve the first five points.

Next week, they will be discussing and suggesting another 5 ways, so look out in next week's newsletter for the next five.

We have included some examples of SMART hair - take a look below.

We look forward to seeing lots of SMART Sparks!

IMPORTANT - ASTHMA INFORMATION

We are an asthma friendly school and like to support children on our register in the best way we can.  To ensure this is possible we have to update our care plans each academic year. You should have received the new forms by now, so could you please return these as soon as possible. Please also make sure your child has an up to date inhaler in school which is in date and clearly labelled along with their spacer.

If your child did not take their inhaler home at the end of term please ask their class teaching team so that you can check they are in date.

If your child has just started reception and is diagnosed as Asthmatic please contact Sue Priest either on (01384) 818315 or email spriest @crestwood-p.dudley.sch.uk and we will get the appropriate forms to you.

Thank you so much for your support with this any questions please feel free to ask.

Please follow the link to the Dudley Council Childcare Survey; we want to understand parents/carers experiences with finding and using childcare in Dudley and will use this information to plan and improve childcare services for families in our area.

The questionnaire should only take 5 minutes to complete.

Please click on the link below and once completed submit the form.

Mrs Cadman's News

Welcome back!

I have been catching up with the children about the books they have been reading during the holidays.

I know some children took part in the reading challenge which was being held at the Dudley Libraries this summer - so well done to anyone who completed this challenge.

Both William and Thomas completed the challenge and were awarded certificates.

William has now read all of the Harry Potter series - What an achievement.  Well done William.

If you have any news which you would like to share, please email me at: acadman@crestwood-p.dudley.sch.uk

Enjoy your weekend.

Pastoral Update

Welcome back everyone, it's been so good to see you all, we've missed you ❤️

This week we'd like to share some tips for parents to help settle your child/children back into the school routine. We hope you find some of them helpful.

It looks like we can look forward to some sunshine over the weekend. Enjoy whatever you do and look after each other. Lots of love The Pastoral Team xxxx

Finally...

Here's to another happy, successful and memorable school year.

Please have a restful weekend so that you are all geared up for a full week of new learning and new adventures next week!

Please take a look at the newsletter titled "What's Going On In Our Community" for information regarding events in the local area!

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children are safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm.  If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
