Welcome to

Crestwood Park Primary School

Be the best you can be

Welcome to our Newsletter

Lots has been happening in school this week, and there is lots to digest in this week's newsletter!

Fieldwork Day took place on Monday, a 'Rock Steady' Concert on Tuesday and I have had so many children visit me to show me some wonderful writing this week.

The Year 4 class assembly this morning was very informative and entertaining. I think we all gained some scientific knowledge from it! Thank you to the pupils and staff for doing such a great job.

The Get Together Picnic event after school today has proven to be a huge success! The event was organised by our parents- a heartfelt thanks to everyone involved, and to everyone who attended. The sun shone, the ice-creams flowed, bottles and hampers were won and many a glitter tattoo was inked!  We made an amazing £750! We will be looking to purchase even more equipment for our children to use and enjoy at lunchtimes with this money.

There are still plenty more events to come in our final two weeks.

Year 6 Enterprise and the Key Stage 2 production take place next week. These are very special and worthwhile events for Crestwood Park, so please keep scrolling to read more information about them, such as when they take place and how children and families will be involved.

Staffing Update

This week, we have shared our teaching team for September 2026.

In the coming weeks, we do have plans to support transition.

Staffing is always subject to change and, as this year has shown, circumstances out of our control, can influence and impact our plans.

We will always communicate any updates and developments and appreciate the support and understanding that has been shown by parents this year, where there has been some disruption.

Miss Tibbetts will be moving on at the end of this year. She came to Crestwood Park as a newly qualified teacher whilst Miss Obertelli was on maternity leave. It is with sadness that we have to say goodbye. We wish her continued happiness and success as she steps into a new role at another setting in September.

Eco-Schools Award

We have been steadily working towards completing our Eco-Schools Award this academic year. We have:

Transport
Biodiversity
Marine

We thank you for all of your support in achieving these actions, we could not have been successful without you collecting bottle tops, walking to school, creating posters and counting your plastics at home!

Our Eco-Committee have worked together to create an Eco-Code for our school going forward. Have a look below to see what we are committing to! Our Award application is now submitted so we'll keep you posted if we're successful. Keep your fingers crossed!!

Take a look below at our amazing stalls that took part in our Get Together Picnic! 🧺☀️

Walk To School Week

Thank you to all who participated in walk to school week this week!

You have made a huge difference to our environment this week.

Certificates will be sent home over the course of next week.

Rocksteady!

Wow what a morning we had in school this week, with our visitor from Rocksteady!

Rich demonstrated a variety of instruments - drum kit, keyboard, bass guitar, electric guitar and his voice in a whole school assembly.

He even got the teachers up to form their own mini band.

The hall was buzzing with excitement, rhythm and music.

Both key stages took part in a workshop to find out more about the opportunities that Rocksteady offer and some children even got a chance to play the instruments.

Letters have been sent home regarding Rocksteady lessons, which will be starting in school from September.

If you want your child to take part, please sign up soon!

Forest School

SAFE

This term we are focusing on our SAFE SPARK.

We are looking for children who are being safe - this may be within the classroom, on the playground or on the trips that all children will be going on this half term.

We have seen lots of SAFE Sparks already - those children who are keeping SAFE by drinking water, staying in the shade and wearing sun hats!

House Points

One more week before the House Points are finally collected and the House prize is given!

Look out on next week's newsletter for the winner!

Pastoral Update

We hope you have managed to keep cool in the heat, hopefully we have a cooler week ahead.

This week we would like to share a 24/7 helpline number.  This is one recommended by the NHS to support parents with parenting worries big or small.  You can call, use their live chat or what's app for advice.  We all need a little help sometimes.

The site is also very useful if you fancy a free course with many topics to support your parenting needs.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend, look after each other, lots of love from The Pastoral Team xxx

Finally...

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

Look forward to welcoming you back bright and breezy on Monday- please be on time- even if you have watched the football!

Come on England!

Please take a look at the newsletter titled "What's Going On In Our Community" for information regarding events in the local area!

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is the responsibility of everyone in our school and at all times we consider what is in our children's best interests. We work to ensure our children are safe and cared for and by doing this we are protecting their health and development and preventing them from harm.  If we are worried, we will raise concerns, share information and take prompt action with the aim of ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
