School Day Reminder
We are again experiencing quite a few children who are arriving to school a little late every morning. Can we remind parents that the school day starts at 8:55am and children should be in the classroom by the time the bell rings. The recent attendance letter gives information quite clearly that if your child is late by just 5 minutes each day, they have lost 3 whole days of learning by the end of the year and it only get worse, the later you are.
In addition there are a growing number of children who are collected late every day. The school day ends at 3:15pm and children should be collected at this time. While we understand that parents may have a child/children at Secondary Schools that finish earlier than we do, we do not always have staff available to look after children who are not collected. All children who are collected late need to be 'signed out' on our new Inventry system. It is also our responsibility as a primary school to hand ALL children over to a parent/carer/older sibling whereas secondary schools can just let children leave their premises unaccompanied. Please try to ensure that someone is here to collect your children by 3:15pm each day.
Old Five Pound Notes
From the end of the day on Friday 5th May, old five pound notes are no longer legal tender. Unfortunately, we have been informed that we cannot accept any old notes after this date and have only one week to bank all old notes. We respectfully ask that you do not send any old notes as payment for anything in school as we will have to return them and request repayment in the correct tender. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this might cause, but we must abide by the dates given.

Summer Fun Week
Rather than a Summer Fair we will be hosting a Summer Fun Week this year instead during week beginning 26th June. It will run along the same lines as our Christmas Fun Week - but obviously be 'Summer' based and include a week of fun and games, with a Grand Raffle draw at the end of the week. There will also be guessing games with prizes to be won during the week like 'How Many Sweeties in the Jar', 'Name the Cuddly Toy, etc. Full itinerary has not yet been decided, but more information will be winging it's way home as soon as decisions are made.
