Well Being... in the sunshine!
We have already had some lovely spring weather and hopefully more sunshine is on the way! Please ensure that your children are ready for the warmer weather by providing them with a NAMED water bottle, sun hat and have had suncream applied before the start of the school day.
As a reminder, all children will be bringing home a Wrap, Splat, Hat leaflet (My Sun Safety Passport) that contains plenty of tips and advice.
Running / Cross Country club...
A letter was sent out this week to offer children in the whole school the opportunity to take part in a running/cross country club which will be after school on a Thursday this term. The first session will take place on Thursday 6th June from 3:15pm - 4:00pm. We would ask that a parent accompanies any Reception children that wish to participate, thank-you. Finally, if you have a younger child in a pushchair or a wheelchair and would like to take part, we will gladly accommodate you. Please send in your slip and money via the class teacher, thank-you.
Uniform Labels...
To assist with lost property issues, we would encourage you to label your child's clothes, shoes, lunch-boxes and drink bottles. To support you, we have teamed up with a reputable fundraising 'Name Label' organisation Label Planet "STIKINS"; the labels simply stick in and stay in - no sewing or ironing needed. Please quote this unique fundraising number on the website '5271'. www.stikins.co.uk.
Half-term activities...
Ocean Day and 'Plastic Free Friday'...
On Friday 7th June Dudley catering is running an Ocean day. Our kitchen will be ensuring that they use no 'single use' plastics. They have been purchasing alternatives over the last few months. From then on we would like to encourage all children to have a 'Plastic Free Friday' so all children including packed lunches, avoid using single use plastics. If your child prefers a packed lunch, a grabbag is offered as an alternative to the hot dinners, so you can ensure that your child's lunch is plastic free.
Bikes and scooters on the playground...
Please can we remind you that no bikes or scooters are allowed to be ridden in the school grounds. This week a child from Poppyfields was knocked over by a child riding their bike on the grounds and was injured and very shaken. Only Year Six who have passed their Bikeability are allowed to bring bikes to school unsupervised. Many thanks for your cooperation.
Half-term...
We would like to wish you all a very Happy Half-term! It is hard to believe that when we come back, we will be half way through the Summer Term and preparing for leavers and new starters. Have a super week and we look forward to seeing you all on the 3rd June...
