Well Being

Spring is on its way...the bulbs that the children and Mrs Stowe planted last Autumn term have now started to bud and green shoots are now appearing.

We have been given 15 tiny saplings by the Woodland Trust. Week beginning 25th every class will be planting two trees and the Peacemakers will plant one of their own. If we have any gardeners out there who have any spare time available, please do let the office know.

Comic Relief - Red Nose Day on 15th March...

We were delighted to see the children (and staff) arrive at school in their PJ's to support such a wonderful charity - we wish to take this opportunity to thank parents/families for supporting us today and we will annouce the fundraising amount shortly.

SAT's Club to support Key Stage 1 children...

Just a reminder that for those signed up for SAT's club after school, they will be held on Monday 18th March, Monday 25th March and Monday 1st April. It will begin after school and finish at 4pm. PLEASE NOTE that due to the format of this club children must attend with an adult and unfortunately we cannot accommodate siblings below school age.

Spelling Showcase...

A little reminder we will be holding a Spelling Showcase on Monday 25th March between 2:45pm - 3:15pm. There will be various beneficial activities going on throughout the school - please look out for further details.

Year 1 Phonics Refresher meeting...

A letter has been sent out this week to all Year 1 parents inviting them to attend a Phonics Refresher meeting; this will take place on Tuesday 26th March at 3:15pm - please complete and return the slip at the bottom of the letter.  The meeting will be held in the Year 1 classroom. Staff will be on hand to look after children in the Reception classroom so that you are free to listen and ask any questions. Year 1 is a very important year for phonics and reading and the information shared at this meeting will greatly benefit your child. Thank-you for your support.

Crestwood Park Choir at VIVO 9...

* PLACES STILL AVAILABLE * A letter was sent out to children who have joined the school choir and who have attended Choir rehearsals; on Thursday 28th March, the choir will be performing as part of the VIVO 9 at Dudley Town Hall. Please refer to the letter issued for further information - to confirm you are able to purchase Audience Tickets at a cost of £3:00 and a voluntary contribution of £3:00 towards the cost of coach (which school is subsidising).

Cross Country team success...

A big thank you to all of the children who competed in the Dudley Primary Cross-Country Championships on Saturday at Himley Hall. Our boys team comprised of: Archie C, Finley H, Kian J, Jonathan H and Dylan T. All the boys completed the 1.5km course! Well done to Jonathan for finishing 30th out of around 180 competitors! Our girl's team comprised of: Ellie-May C, Elly L, April T, Lacey B, Zoie C and Lexie W. Again they all ran very well- it was a challenging 1.5km course. A special congratulations to Lexie who finished 20th and has secured a place in a future county race! Thanks too for the support of all the parents. Mrs Kennedy and Mrs Cooper were very proud of all of our children.

Foodbank Friday - Appeal for donations...

Friday 5th April 2019 is Foodbank Friday! Our donations will be collected by our Local Foodbank to be distributed to those in need. All donations will be gratefully received; to preserve the quality of the food donations, would you please ensure the items are long-life, sealed and in-date, thank-you.  Please drop off donations any day over the next couple of weeks but by 9am on Thursday 4th April at the latest. Thank you in advance.

Nurture Room extension...

We are thrilled to announce that our wonderful Nurture Room is now being furnished and we will keep you updated on an official opening date...watch this space! This has been a long but extremely worthwhile project and we cannot thank-you enough for your patience in this matter.
