'Roblox' site blocked

It has come to our attention that some children in school have been messaging each other using the 'Roblox' website. Due to the inappropriate nature of the messages, we have taken the decision to block all access to the site from school devices. We take internet safety incredibly seriously; we will be talking to all children about the potential problems with using such a site and reminding them that what is unacceptable off-line, is unacceptable online! If you require any further information, please get in touch.

Measels

You may be aware that across the country there have been a few confirmed cases of measles, including in the Birmingham area. We have one child , with a suspected case, who is currently off school. The risk of infection is very small, as the majority of the school population have had their MMR vaccination. If you have any queries about your child's vaccinations please contact your GP. Early symptoms of measles include a high fever, runny nose, cough, red and watery eyes and Koplik spots (small red dots with bluish white centres) inside the mouth. After a few days, a rash appears, usually on the face and upper neck. if in doubt please contact your GP for advice. This is not meant to alarm, but is simply for information and follows the advice given to us by Public Health England.

Snow and messaging

Thank you for your patience during our recent spell of bad weather. When using the text system, we continue to have a a few numbers that consistently fail. We will be sending out a reminder to those parents , but please can you always keep us informed of any changes of number. Also to remind you that in the summer term, we will no longer subscribe to the text service, as it it becoming expensive. Information instead will come to you via the School Life App, which is part of our website and as such incurs no further expense to the school. If you need any more information on this, please contact school in the new year.

Merry Christmas

As this will be the final letter of the year we would like to say that we hope you have a fabulous holiday and enjoy your family time together. We also hope you and your children have enjoyed all the Christmas festivities here. Breakfast with Santa was a great success with nearly 90% of the children attending. With the money raised, including additional fundraising from Parent Voice , we are able to heavily subsidise a whole school visit to a pantomime in the new year- more details to follow! Finally, all the staff from Crestwood Park, would like to wish all the children and families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
