Football Catch up Sessions/ After School clubs

Due to the cancellation of a couple of Football sessions last half term, Mr Barnett will be running football club 'catch up' (with the same children) on Tuesday and Thursday of next week. However, it is physically impossible for Mr Barnett to run an after school club and go to a match with the football team at the same time so any future club cancellation due to matches will be absorbed and the sessions will not be re-offered. The same applies to other after school clubs and additional sessions will only be offered where more than 2 clubs have had to be missed in one half term.We still feel that £2.50 per half term whether 4, 5 or 6 weeks is a bargain!

Healthy Minds and Bodies

On the 19th January we are participating in the Healthy Minds and Bodies initiative. This will involve lots of fun throughout the day and a sponsored event. Full details to follow - so make sure you check those pockets and bags.

Whole School Pantomime - Wizard of Oz

We are delighted to say we are taking the children to a pantomime. Oh yes we are....! The performance of Wizard of Oz will take place at Brierley Hill Civic Hall on 24th January. A letter has been sent home so please ensure you have received yours. We are requesting a payment of just £6, which is a greatly subsided price following our successful fund raising over the last month or so. To also keep costs down we are asking parents to collect their child/ren from the Civic Hall at 4:30pm. Please return your reply slips as soon as possible, together with your payment.

Naughty Nits

It has come to our attention that there is an outbreak of head lice in school. We need everyone's help to get this under control.

Treatment: Wash hair and apply a generous amount of conditioner. With a fine toothed comb, carefully comb the hair from the scalp to the end of the hair. Look at the comb after each stroke and wipe clean. If done thoroughly, this will remove all live lice as the hair is so slippery they can't cling on! This is the most effective treatment, but needs repeating on a daily basis until all eggs have vanished. Chemical treatments can be purchased over the counter but it is known that some head lice become resistant to these and, therefore, no chemical preparation is one hundred percent effective.

Please remember - There is no shame in having headlice but it is shameful to do nothing about it!

There's a baby on the way!

You may have noticed that Miss Rudkin is expecting her first child and will be going on maternity leave at February half term. We would like to assure you that continuity is very important to us, so to cover Miss Rudkin, we will be reallocating existing staff and giving some part time staff additional hours so that no child's education is affected. We wish her well and look forward to meeting the new member of the Crestwood Park family!
