Crestwood 'Pioneers'

Our Year 6 'Pioneers' have returned from their adventurous residential. The Pioneer Centre is designed to give children all the experiences that are sometimes missed like abseiling, raft building, archery and much, much more. We can only assume by the happy tired faces that greeted staff who visited them that they have had a wonderful time. Well done to all children for facing these challenges head on with a smile!

Non Uniform Day - Crestwood Cups

You can see from the Planning above that Monday 19th is our second non uniform day when children can wear there own clothes in exchange for a filled cup. Empty cups were sent home a couple of weeks ago and we are aware that many children have already returned their cups please don't worry if this has happened with your child, staff have a list of which children have already returned cups. If you have not brought back your Crestwood Cup, please do so on Monday.

Sports Day

You will have already received various letters about our upcoming Sports Day which takes places on Tuesday next, 20th June at The Dell Stadium, Bryce Road. Children need to be delivered to the Stadium for the normal registration time of 8:55am where teachers will be ready at the entrance to register them in classes. Parents who are able to stay will then take a seat in the stand.

Children need to arrive in their usual school PE kit, a note has already been sent home giving details of what colour Tee Shirt is required. Please note that either pumps or trainers can be worn. Children will also need a named water bottle. We will be providing fruit to eat during the break but children may want to bring their own, however this should be left with your child as they will stay with their class during this break time.

After this event, children will walk back to school in time for lunch so normal lunchtime arrangements will apply. We are hoping for good weather and are sure this will be as big a success as previous years have been. The children so enjoy running on a 'proper' track rather than the school field. Thank you in advance for your support.

The Great Get Together

This weekend, across the country, communities are holding events in memory of Jo Cox to celebrate her strongest belief that "We have more in common than that which divides us' Starting at 3:00pm Friday 23rd June, we will be holding our first Great Get Together in the form of a picnic. We are asking our Crestwood family, to bring your blanket and bring and share picnic items. There will be a bottle tombola and crestwood cup stall on the playground while this is going ahead. Families are free to leave at any times and we do envisage being finished around 4pm. The letter sent home containing full details of this event asks if you could let us know whether you intend to join us. This is just to give us some idea of numbers and how much of our ground might be filled.

Proposed INSET Days for the academic year 2017-18

We are aware that parents sometimes need to book annual leave etc for INSET DAYS so our proposed closures for the next academic year are as follows: Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th September 2017 - Monday 2nd January 2018 - Thursday 3rd May 2018 (Local Elections TBC) - Friday 20th July 2018.

The Local Election date in May 2018 could be subject to change but this is the proposed date at present. We also thought that by breaking up on 19th July instead of 20th would give parents an opportunity to book flights just that couple of days earlier which can make such a saving to holiday costs.
